Community development underpins all the work we do at Bridge Darebin, which enables us to deliver courses, programs, events, partnerships and services that support local residents, organisations and businesses.
We have developed a number of programs for local residents who face barriers to engaging in our services.
Our regular community programs include Laneway Lunches, a two-course community lunch feeding 60 people every Friday, supported by dedicated volunteers. We also have activities at each lunch including knitting, drawing and iPad basics.
At Your Own Pace provides a friendly and supportive environment for learners with additional needs to develop and practise their computer skills.
Social Lawn Bowls is held at Kingsbury Bowls Club. This fun recreational program is for learners with additional needs; carers welcome, too.
Moving Stars is a supportive group for adults with special needs to express their creativity and make friends. Moving Stars combines movement, dance, music, drama, art and relaxation for two hours of fun Monday nights.
Introduction to Cooking builds learners’ confidence to prepare healthy, affordable and tasty meals from scratch.
Conversational Italian is a supportive, encouraging way to develop your Italian conversational skills and vocabulary while enjoying coffee and treats. All conversations are in Italian.
